SetupLevel publishes PC build guides, part picks and hardware reviews for gamers — focused on the US market and written for people spending their own money.

Mission

Cut through spec-sheet marketing. Every recommendation is tied to a build tier, a budget and a target resolution, so you can copy it or adapt it without guessing.

How we test

• Benchmarks are run on retail hardware, at documented settings, with the run recorded.
• Prices are checked at publication and dated; we note when a pick is sensitive to sales.
• Guides are updated when a new part changes the recommendation — the change is logged.
• We disclose affiliate relationships on every page that carries a purchase link.

The team

SetupLevel is an independent site. Editorial decisions are made in-house and are not influenced by manufacturers or retailers. Each section is written by a dedicated editor:

  Kevin Zhao — Lead Build Guides

  Kevin has built 400+ PCs, first as a workshop technician and now leading build guides at SetupLevel. He writes the copy-and-adapt builds and the BIOS, airflow and upgrade guides.

  Daniel Kwon — Reviews & Benchmarking

  Daniel runs SetupLevel's test bench and benchmarking methodology. He reviews GPUs, CPUs, coolers, power supplies, monitors and peripherals, focused on performance per dollar and per watt.

  Emily covers hardware launches, pricing, drivers and platform roadmaps for SetupLevel, always with a primary source and a note on what it means for your next purchase.

  Sarah builds gaming and creator battlestations. She writes SetupLevel's desk layout, cable management, airflow, lighting and ergonomics guides.
